Good overall health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being; essentially, a healthy mind, body, and spirit.  Being in good health will have a ripple effect and can positively impact many aspects of your life.  Generally, if you are feeling well and have energy, you will positively influence your mental state and relationships with others.  Eating the right foods, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and avoiding bad habits are a few thing you can do to maintain good health.  However, your health can be adversely affected by a number of different factors including poor eating habits, stress, lack of physical activity, and smoking.   

 

Nutrition is the process of getting the right amount of nutrients from healthy foods in the right combinations.  Good nutrition along with regular physical activity is the cornerstone to developing and maintaining good health.  Good nutrition is essential for the growth and maintenance of your body and is your source for energy.  The correct vitamins and minerals will keep your body healthy and functioning properly.  Poor nutrition, on the other hand, can lead to reduced immunity, increased susceptibility to disease, impaired physical and mental development, and reduced productivity.
