Performance Improvement Process

Performance improvement is a process involving a series of steps. Each step is an essential piece for reaching the desired performance outcome. The first step is to determine your desired levels of performance. The next set of steps involve measuring and analyzing the performance to determine what is needed to achieve the desired performance. That segment is followed up by setting goals and creating a plan for performance improvement. The final set of steps involve monitoring and evaluating the performance then making the necessary adjustments.

 

About the Performance Improvement Process

Most people and organizations only implement a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) when an individual is not performing up to the minimum set of standards required for that position. This approach suggests that no other individuals need to improve his or her performance. Therefore, as long as a person’s performance is meeting the minimum standards, they do not need to improve. This philosophy leaves much improvement and increased efficiencies up to chance. We believe every individual should follow a Performance Improvement plan so they can systematically enhance their skills and improve their performance.

Skill Enhancement

 

A person should continuously look for ways to develop his or her skills, abilities, and competencies to enhance his or her performance.  Through effective skill enhancement, you become more capable, competent, and confident in yourself and your performance, and are better able to reach your goals.

 

A skill Enhancement Plan is essential for consciously improving your skills and is most effective when it is connected to your goals.  Therefore, you should first set your goals then determine which skills need to be addressed in order to reach those goals.  By linking skill enhancement to long-term goals, you will help ensure the motivation and desire is there to build that skill.

Our Skill Enhancement section offers reference information about various skills designed to for personal growth and to help improve performance.  This section is intended to provide information and insight into skills that affect performance are vital to personal growth.  The series in divided into two main sections:

 

  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Personal Effectiveness

 

Interpersonal Skills focuses on relationships and interactions with others.  It includes how to communicate and work with others, as well as how to lead others.  Personal Effectiveness centers on skills that can be applied independent of other people.  It includes skills such as goal setting, problem solving, time management, and stress management.  

 

Both sections hones in on specific skills such as leadership, team building, time management, decision making, problem solving, and change management.  Each skill has it own section with information designed to guide the learner and provide insight into enhancing that particular skill.

Personal Effectiveness

Our Personal Effectiveness Series centers on skills that can be applied independent of other people.  These are skills designed to enhance a person’s overall effectiveness at performing tasks, but can develop without the dependency of others. 

 

Personal Effectiveness skills are essential to personal growth and for successful performances.  They are not isolated to independent performance.  Whether a person is performing independently or on a team they need to have a strong set of personal skills.   

 

Our Personal Effectiveness series is designed to provide strategies and give insight into behaviors and attitudes that can help an individual organize tasks, manage time, and manage themselves.  These personal effectiveness skills include personal goal setting, time management, problem solving, and emotional intelligence. 

 

 

 

 

Interpersonal Skills

Interpersonal Skills are those abilities, attitudes, and competencies centered on relationships and interactions with other people.  These skills can enhance a person’s ability to communicate with, understand, and motivate both individuals and groups. 

 

Interpersonal skills are becoming more and more a necessity in business, sports and education.  Development of the interpersonal skills is a key goal of many business and team initiatives.  Good interpersonal skills are often a prerequisite for many positions in an organization.

 

Through our Interpersonal Skill Builder, we provide strategies and insight that can enhance a person’s ability effectively create behaviors that can influence and motivate with others.  Our series include such skills as Leadership, team building, Change Management, and Conflict Resolution.

Mental Conditioning  

Mental conditioning is a process of training your mind to modify your thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs to accept thinking patterns, tendencies and/or mental states in order to optimize positive thinking and ultimately optimize your performance.   We offer strategies and techniques designed to affect your thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs in order to optimize your performance. We provide strategies for positive thinking to stop any negative thoughts that arise and replace them with a positive affirmation. We also offer techniques to help increase focus and concentration, as well as relaxation techniques that can help relieve anxiety and tension to improve performance through better concentration and focus.

 

 

 

Skill Enhancement 

A person should continuously look for ways to develop his or her skills, abilities, and competencies to enhance his or her performance. We provide an outline for creating your personalized plan to help you determine the best course of action to obtain or hone your skills. We also provide tools for completing an assessment to measure your current skill level. In addition to the personalized plan and assessments, we offer strategies and techniques on improving a wide array of skills including; goal setting, time management, organization, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution, leadership, teambuilding, and communications.

 

 

 

Health & Nutrition

Good overall health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being; essentially, a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Being in good health will have a ripple effect and can positively impact many aspects of your life. Our Health & Nutrition series is designed to help you to make smart choices about the foods you eat. It provides information on proper nutrition to help you develop and maintain good health. Having nutrition knowledge and making smart choices about the foods you eat can help you achieve optimum health, and be instrumental to avoiding obesity and illness.

 

 

 

Physical Development  

Physical development is the development of the body. It is the increase in your physical capabilities including strength, endurance, flexibility, agility, and balance.

We believe physical development is best when all aspects of physical conditioning are incorporated in your development plan. In other words, you should plan on increasing your stamina, coordination, flexibility, and agility in addition to increasing your muscle mass and strength. A successful physical development regiment not only increases your physical attributes and abilities, it also can give you a positive mental state and increases your self-confidence in your physical capabilities.
